J2ME SDK 3.0 & Windows Mobile Problem

Hi Everybody!,

I´m trying to run a J2ME application in a Windows Mobile 6.1 Emulator using the VM that SUN distributes in his SDK(3.0). I followed the instructions to install the VM ( and it seems that the installation procedure went ok, but then I try to get a JAD over OTA, and the jad file is saved with no option to open as an application. If I try to open a local JAD file I get a popup with the following error "There is no application associated with <>. Run the application first, then open this file from within the application.

(Where <> is the name of my jad file)

Any help to see a java application running in a Windows Mobile Emulator??

Sorry for the slow reply ...

If Windows Mobile doesn't recognize the .jad file that means that the file association in Windows Mobile is not set correctly. Open windows explorer, go to tools => folder options => file types. There you can select an existing file extension, or create a new one, and change the program used to open it.

Alternatively, you can also install the new JavaFX Mobile 1.2 EA for Windows Mobile stack, see

Hope that helps,

I read in another forum that java apps just don`t run on Win OS, but since everything`s doable... does somebody have any instructions, program or app to make j2me apps run on winmo?
on the other hand, with the problem you describe it sounds like the "reader" jad is missing out sth to describe the jar core!?!?! correct me if I`m wrong, please.
