Hi,

Is this application designed to work only with emulators? What should we do to make this application work in a developer settop box?

If you have other applications that work in a Dev set top box, please provide the link.

Thanks!
Priya

Hi priya,

This application works on both the emulators and Developer Set Top Boxes also.

We tested it in both the environments.
We provided the source code, get the binary files by compiling the source code.
We need not modify the application.
Just copy these binary files following the same package structure to the STB using the procedure supported by your STB. We need to have some procedure to signal these binary files. This will be specific to the STB model.

We are in the process of providing some other sample applications that work on both the emulators and Dev Set top boxes. Hope this doesn't take much time.

Let me know if you have any issues testing this sample app on Dev set top box. We may help you more with the issues respect to STB, If you can tell us your STB model.

Thanks,
krishna.

Krishna,

Thank you so much for your immediate response. The Set top box that we are using is ADB 7822C.

We were able to deploy the google map app in the STB and were able to type in the co-ordinates in the text box. But we are not able to submit the co-ordinates. Also, The google map image is not displayed in the application. Kindly help us to solve these issues.

We have the screenshot of the application. If you can share your email ID, I can send the screen shot to you.

Also, thanks for offering to share more sample apps. It will be really of great help! Please share it with us once it is complete.

Rgds,
Priya

Hi priya,

From the problem description, I guess there might be two issues.
1. Is your system connected to internet.
2. We were using the following keys to enter the special characters,

1. OCRcEvent.VK_DISPLAY_SWAP -- 444

2. OCRcEvent.VK_PINP_TOGGLE -- 442

3. OCRcEvent.VK_PINP_MOVE - 624
Could you please check the keys for these key events on your remote or replace these key events with your own key events ,in the key pressed method of mapscreen class.

if you can provide what keys that worked for you, then that would be helpful to others also.

Thanks,
krishna.
