also i like extjs javascript library, it's very nice.

does anybody tried to use them together ?

is there any example about it ?

i found lilya project but it is not for JSF 2.0

maybe i will write some extension for JSF 2.0, bu i don't know how to write JSF 2.0 custom components ..
is there any example about it ?

Writing some examples of using the JSF Ajax stuff with an external
library is something that's on my "finish by JavaOne" list.

Here's what you need to know:

If the library contains functions that operate on data (like the $ op or
other such things) they'll work just fine.

If the library contains functions that manipulate the page (for
instance, in creating a new div), or does its own Ajax calls, then they
should work OK, provided that you're careful with them - JSF won't know
about things contained inside them, you'll have to either write a
bridge, or keep them separate from the JSF data model.

One task I hope to accomplish in the next couple months is to write a
few JSF composite components that wrap an Ajax library's components
(though I was looking at the YUI stuff as the one I was going to try).

You also might want to take a peek at jMaki, they do a lot of component
wrapping already, and that makes it a little easier to embed things into
JSF.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for your quick replies.

i understand everything.

jmaki is ok. maybe it will be good client library in the future.

client libraries like YUI or ExtJS are most powerful and really Rich UI client libraries,
I'll try to write bridge for JSF 2.0 and YUI or ExtJS and try to use them for my projects ...

i saw GWT-EXT wich use ExtJS and YUI client libraries, it is very nice but, i think (it's my opinion) that GWT is not well design pattern for web application.
there you must forget about page navigation, it isn't good design to write everything in java (this is also my opinion)

i will be happy to see client libraries like ExtJS and YUI together with JSF 2.0..

it will be very very nice combination.

FWIW, there is a JSF-YUI library called Mojarra Scales, which is
hosted on kenai.com (http://kenai.com/projects/scales/). It currently
targets 1.2, but I plan to migrate it to JSF 2 Real Soon Now. If you
want to help out on that, you're more then welcome to join the
project. :)

I personally know of no such endeavour, but my knowledge is far from
complete.

Well, it should work with 2.0 right away, but they'd need to upgrade
Lilya to take advantage of JSF 2.0

You can get started with Ryan's blog entry series on resource loading:

http://blogs.sun.com/rlubke/entry/jsf_2_0_new_feature5

And then Jim Driscoll's blog about composite components
