yahoo data table refresh from combo box

Hello, I have been experimenting with jmaki for a little while and it has proved really useful. I have come across a problem and would appreciate any help

I want to have a combo box that allows the user to select from a list of database tables I have. Once a table has been selected i'd like a yahoo data table to be refreshed with the rows from the selected table.

So far I have been able to populate the combo box and load the data table with initial values without any problems. But I have been unable to refresh the data table because there only appears to be functions that allow the modification of rows not columns

can anybody help me and suggest a way of re- initialising the data table with the new rows or any other solution?

Thanks for any help

Hi Jamesy,

The jMaki Load Tables example is a great place to learn how to use tables (specifically the yahoo one) and how to swap in and out data.

See the example live at:

The source is available in the jMaki download which you can get at: (look for

In the zip file look for the file:

This is where the logic is.

Let me know if this doesn't help.

Thanks a lot Greg that was really useful!

My original problem was that every database table contained different columns, but I have solved it by re-loading the table everytime a combobox value is selected

Thanks again
