Which JDK release supports/will support compressed oop for 64-bit? Is it turned on by default or do we need to use this switch?
This option should use less memory but you may find that it is slower for your application.
JDK6u14 early access release, JDK6u6p (note the p at the end, it stands for performance) and JDK7 builds. You need to enable it at the moment.
