Hi All,

I saw that 6u12 was available for download from javasoft via the home page and tried downloading the windows version and get an error about the exe not being a win32 exe.

Did someone goof and put the 62-bit version for the windows download instead of the 32-bit version?

I tried downloading a second time but got the download time of 21 minutes so figured lots of people downloading right now.

Please have someone verify the exe is correct.

Thanks,
-Tony

Download jdk-6u12-windows-i586-p.exe and started and ran the installer without issue on 32-bit XP.

Could the file have been corrupted during download?

Is anyone else seeing this same error? If so, please let us know.

Happy to hear it! All the pages and downloads are tested before the pages are made live, but sometimes 'things' do happen.

With the roll out of the new 64-bit Windows plugin, in the 64bit download, we are keeping a keen eye on any 64-bit download/installation feedback. As MS ships the 32-bit browser as the default on their 64-bit OS, there is potential for mishaps and confusion.

Thanks again,
Roger
