Hello everybody,

I want to understand the difference between NetworkManager.ConfigMode.ADHOC and NetworkManager.ConfigMode.EDGE while configuring JXTA in order to start it!

Help me please.
Thank you in advance.

So can you tell me please which of the two I should use for a file sharing P2P application ?
I usually put EDGE when I use jxta but in most of sources that I saw, people put ADHOC?!

Help me please

My recommendation in general is to always use Edge configuration, even in adhoc topologies, as it can adapt to structured mode if it is possible (i.e. in the case a rendezvous is discovered in an adhoc network).

Keep in mind when deploying the app across networks, a rendezvous node would be needed to enable cross subnet/firewall bootstrapping, discovery and connectivity.

It's described in detail in the developer guide. Edge is a super set of adhoc (which local sub-net only connectivity)
