How to deploy SimpleVideoPlayer as applet (or something similar) ???

I'm trying to take the SimpleVideoPlayer which plays Big Buck Bunny and strip that sample down to it bare essentials.

I have managed to peel off some part and lighten up this sample a bit.

However ... I'd like to be able to depoly this using an applet tag, a local copy of deployJava ... a stripped down copy of deployJava. Etc.

I'm ending up with problems where I'm not sure where javafx.application.Applet lives. I search my jar files and don't find it. I'm uptodate with my java sdk.

I think part if the problem is I might be trying to take some queues/hints from depricated samples and blog on the web.

I need SimpleVideoPlayer to start up in a few seconds tops ... not be scanning all over the web for scrip fragments, etc.

I need to be able to run this locally on a local HTTP sever.

what's with this big fat deployJava.js anyway ??? My users are going to have the latest java runtimes on their machine. I'm ensuring this in a separate initiative.

Here is an example of an html file.
In NetBeans just select Project Properties->Run-> Run in Browser.

That sample does not address my concern for running locally.

I know how to use this external URL to help with Java deployment.
http://dl.javafx.com/dtfx.js

The question is how to do this with less "VETTING" gunk ?

Anyone ???

Example issues that tend to mess with my ability to concentrate ...

What is diff between JavaFX samples that use Application rather than Stage ???
Application seems to be gone from JavaFX December 2008 release.

I'm trying to take James Weavers area applet and stripe that sucker down and then show-horn in my own jar file in place of his.

This proves to be a fairly difficult chore even though is sound easy. He uses Application ... my sample uses Stage.

We are both trying to do the deployment that explicily lists the JDK jar files that are required for javafx.

What's worse ...

If I have a SimpleVideoPlayer.jar working with media local and local HTTP server ... but use the remote java depolyment script file ...

If it works ...

Then I pull the Network plug. It still works and asks me about proceeding offline (fair enough for now). And it works seemingly offline.

But then if I clean FireFox Cache and reboot. Then it does not work at all. It just seems to SPIN its wheels without ANY feedback of pass/fail. It just posts the applet name ... but the video , white screen of appler never show up.

This kind of behavior is not very well understood and seems extremely confusing to me.
