I'm all registered, have a res at La Quinta near the airport. What is taxi availability in this area? Is it safe to assume I can get a taxi ride to/from the conference or is a car required if one does not wish to walk? It looks to be about 2 miles from the San Jose airport is that correct? I will give the hotel a call and see what they say as well.

Car pool anyone??

thanks,
Leroy

Thanks for the response Binky, Bruce, Terrence.
One never knows about taxis and such if one has not been there. I appreciate the info. I'll just stick with a taxi initially, though they will probably kick me out for such a short ride.. :o)

See ya there..

Leroyl,

Looks like it's only a mile. The area is not particularly pretty - a mix of residential and business - but should be pretty safe to walk.

I'll probably be staying in South SanFran and driving, so would be
happy to give others a lift along the way.

best regards

You could probably get a taxi from the front desk of the hotel to the
conference site. Taxi from airport to hotel should be reasonable and
easy to get. It's possible to walk it looks like it's just short of a
mile, but I don't know that area very well so I'm not sure about
security. You might ask the front desk.
