Samsung F490 / F700

Hi,

I have the happy task of doing 'blind' ports for the Samsung F490 and
Samsung F700.

Info I have so far is that full canvas on the F490 is 240*410 and on
the F700 432*218. Nice sizes to work with (not)!

Can anyone confirm these dimensions are correct - and is there
anything else I should watch out for on these devices?

cheers

actually yes, an important thing to know... you only get those dimensions if you add in a special samsung JAD parameter that says that your app supports touchscreen. Otherwise the phone puts a virtual d-pad (4 directional arrows), softkeys and a few extra things on-screen the entire time your app is running, which allows non-touchscreen apps to run on the phone. So, I believe its 240x320 without the JAD param, and 240x410(unconfirmed) with the JAD param.

so add this to your JAD for the full screen access:
MIDlet-Touch-Support: TRUE

hope that helps!

p.s. - great phone, you're missing out. the camera has smile detection, its fun :)

MIDlet-Touch-Support: TRUE only right on phone Samsung F480
what about other phone such as: Samsung i8910 ACME?
I can't remove virtual key in this phone.

The Samsung i8910 uses Symbian, therefore you should be able to set it to full-screen using:
Nokia-MIDlet-On-Screen-Keypad: no
