Animator takes too long time

Hi, I just got a new laptop with XP and lots of memory and a graphics card so I assumed that my animations would be smoother than before but guess if I was surprised when I discovered that a (very simple) animation took 5 times longer than it was supposed to. I've been using TimingFramework for a long time and I have never seen anything like it.

I create an Animator like this:

new Animator(1000, this);

but the animation takes aproximately 5 seconds instead of 1. I've even tried it without any graphics, just a println() when starting and another one when ending.

Any clues?

Ok I figured it out myself after some intens testing and a good portion of luck.
I have an intel chipset laptop and the drivers for direct3d and opengl isn't working very well so when I explicitly turned them of with and -Dsun.java2d.d3d=false everything just works like a charm.
