It's out now. Unfortunately, there are no Release Notes available. You're just redirected to 1.6.0_10's Release Notes for some weird reason. Hopefully they are put up soon.

I checked on the java SE download page this morning and saw 11, but now I am only seeing 10. Did Sun retract the release?

It looks like it. It's gone again for me as well. That might explain the lack of Release Notes.

Anyone from Sun know what's going on?

The release was temporarily available, in error. The release was 'staged' and was inadvertently made available for a short period of time. The release will be made available today, around 12 noon PT. It will take some time before it appears on all of our servers.

A posting was made yesterday about the release:

Sorry for the false alarm/release,
Roger

Hi rogerl,

Will 6u11 be available automatic download (jsched.exe)? Rumor was Sun would wait till 6u11 to do that since JavaFX would be supported with 6u11 and not confuse people with 6U11 following so close behind 6u10.

I wonder if that means Sun will release JavaFX 1.0 today instead of tomorrow as mentioned on javafx.com?

Thanks,
-Tony

The automatic download (we call it auto update) is turned on, it was turned on yesterday, at the same time 6u11 was released. JREs with auto update turned on, will ping the server at the interval that can be seen in the control panel. You can force a check by clicking on the 'Update Now' button.

Auto update is turned on when an update release contains security vulnerabilities, as 6u11 does. Here is the listing of what was fixed: http://blogs.sun.com/security/category/news
We now do synchronized releases, meaning that those fixes go out in multiple releases, on the same day. Yesterday we released JDK and JRE 6 Update 11, JDK and JRE 5.0 Update 17, SDK and JRE 1.4.2_19 and SDK and JRE 1.3.1_24

Yes, Javafx.com does say the launch will happen tomorrow :)

I just updated to 6u11. The last popup says, "...JavaFX will be downloaded when
you click finish..."

Why do I want JavaFX downloaded? I just thought the update was for the JRE.

What happens if I don't click Finish?

Addendum:

I didn't click Finish. I just closed the dialog. 6u11
runs just fine.

I had to turn off installing the Yahoo toolbar and read
ads for OpenOffice and then I was coerced into downloading
JavaFX -- what ever that is. Why do you make things
so obnoxiously complicated? Do you think people like
you to do stuff like that?
