Hello

I have set the PATH permanently entering the correct location of the bin folder. Then I attempted to compile the file moving the current directory to D: where my Java folder is. However, javac was not recognised as an internal or external command. I have spent hours trying to troubleshoot this problem to no avail. The folder locations are correctly entered. Please suggest me solutions.

Thank you in advance
Dai

I recommend putting a short batch file in the
Windows home directory.  You can use this both to navigate to wherever you
keep you keep your java working files and to set a temporary path to the
jdk6\bin\
folder.  This path will stay current as long as the command window remains
open.

The batch file I use is called cd1.bat and
it contains just 2 lines:

cd My Documents\Current\Java

set path=C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_03\bin

To use it, I just enter cd1 at the opening command
prompt.
