I got a MS-Windows pre-installed laptop from the company but no admin rights. Why do I need admin privilege to install JDK? Is there a way around this?

Hi,

As far as I know its possible to run java from a copied directory (e.g. from another computer) without any installation.
The reason why it needs admin privilleges is that it modifies a lot of stuff on non-user space:
- Registry
- Browser Plugins / File Registrations
