JAR file cache gets corrupt

Apparently sometimes the Webstart / Applet JAR file cache gets corrupt and even worse the JRE seems to be unable to detect that its cache is no longer valid. To get the JRE up running again, the users actually has to delete the cache themselves.

I’m sure if there exist a bug report about this issue, but I have been unable to find it. However the issue is well documented in Sun ONE Instant Messenger:
http://docs.sun.com/source/816-6676-10/Chap4Config.html#wp23988

I know that this problem is not introduced in u10, but I would like know if the issue has been resolved in u10 (or in prior updates).

Kind regards,
Morten

The reference that you use seems to be based on JRE 1.3 and 1.4 period... (quite old info.)

There has been quite some work done to the caching mechanism in 5 and 6(not just 6u10). Please submit a bug if you have a specific issues that you see.
