It has been several years now since I developed anything in Java, having left the IT profession to joining banking (well it seemed a good move at the time!). Now I need to develop a probability engine to test a progressive wagering system for roulette.

The last time I did any Java it was using Borland Java. But I'm sure things have moved on, so my question basically is what tool will enable me to code myself a desktop application to generate statistical probabilities from a roulette system that I wrote (and use): http://www.playhard.co.uk/best-roulette-system.php

Many thanks for any help...

Get yourself a decent IDE like Netbeans or Eclipse. They both come with decent amounts of features for beginners/advanced users and have visual form designers for GUIs. They're also both open-source and free.

Good luck!
