Hi,

The latest release of JAXP at http://jaxp.dev.java.net ver 1.4.2 was released a while ago. (May 30, 2007). It seems to support XSLT 1.0. Could someone advise on where the development for XSLT 2.0 is happening ?.

My searches todate shows very few libraries in Java that support XSLT 2.0 (Schema Aware). It there are any other than (saxon/saxonica), could you please point me to them ?.

AltovaXML2008 from Altova seems to be a reasonable alternative. However it is fundamentally a windows based solution with a com/java interface that is built-in. Not quite suitable for Server side (java/*nix).

We are evaluating the possibility of supporting XSLT 2.0 in JAXP. Unfortunately, we don't have any plans to share yet. I'll post it here when I have more information.

Thanks,
Joe

Hi Joehw,

Good to see your response. Can you elaborate on what the "we" in your message means ?. Is it SUN or someother open-source initiative ?.

Cheers ...

Yes, I meant Sun. Unfortunately, I haven't heard any specifics about that possibility.

Thanks,
Joe
