RMI/RPC over JXTA

Is there an accepted way to get a JXTA-based RMI-like interface? I've looked at the jxse-rmi project but it hasn't been touched in about 7 years and I can't even tell which version of JXSE it was written for. The PeeRMI project is exactly what I'm looking for but it depends on the p2psockets project which has been stale for a couple years and uses JXSE 2.3.6 or something like that. I'm trying to add this functionality to a project that already has JXSE 2.5 code so I can't really go backwards. In fact we're ready to move on to the next release as soon as one is available. I looked at the soap project and it might work but it carries with it a lot more baggage than I'd like.

I'm pretty new to JXTA so maybe I'm just missing something obvious but I tried to do my due diligence. Any suggestions from the experts?

Thanks.

P.S. for bondolo - You asked somebody else what exactly he needed that isn't in 2.5. We have an unusual network configuration with multiple ethernet interfaces. Forcing JXTA onto a particular interface seems to break the multicast discovery. We haven't tested the nightly build but supposedly this was fixed/improved a couple months ago and should improve our lives a bit.

The issue with handling of specific interfaces was committed a few days ago in r597 by the Glassfish/Shoal team. (It was corrected as part of Issue #5313). You should see the correct behaviour with the nightly build.
