Anyone seen a component or autocomplete decorator that can display hints?

Hi all,

I'm curious if anyone has seen any autocomplete or text field "hints". By that, I mean like a popup window as you type in a field, that tells you more about what to type. At a minimum, I'd be interested in the SwingX autocomplete decorator for a JTextField that allows typing of data not in the autocomplete list, and I'd like to have it render the list of strings in the drop-down DIFFERENTLY than the actual text that is inserted when autocomplete is activated.

Basically, I have a list of common double values that I'd like autocompleted, but when the popup occurs, I'd like to have some more text next to the double values in order to explain what each value means.

Has anyone seen something like this?

Sounds like something you could do with a SwingX autocomplete widget and
a custom ListCellRenderer.
