Is it possible for an OCAP application to play video content from a Streaming server residing on the net ?

We do not have that capability today, but it is on the roadmap.

But in order to clearly understand your requirement, could you please explain your requirement in detail.

Can someone explain exactly how to reference and play a Streaming Video in an OCAP environment?

Using RTP would be ideal, but an HTTP based stream would work just as well.

I am not sure if this answers your questions but the OpenCable Home Networking extension allows to stream content to/from another home network client/server using UPnP/DLNA. For more information please refer to the OC HN specifications:
