Hi,

In the HelloGrinWorld.java file, a compiled GRIN show file is read in using the following statement:

GrinBinaryReader reader = new GrinBinaryReader(AssetFinder.getURL(grinScriptName).openStream());

Is there a way to read in a plain text show file, instead of a compiled version?

Thanks

Not really, for the BD-J runtime. We started with a model that read in a text file at runtime, then introduced an offline compiler. I think that by now the grin text parser uses jdk 5 features that doing the parsing at xlet runtime wouldn't work.

If you're interested in seeing the grin script in action, then GrinViewer works on jdk and can handle both the binary and the plain text grin file.
