Hi all,
I am looking for failover and HA cluster for mobicents. I Found some configurations on the mobicents service files. I enabled those and try to figure outs what going on. But i couldn't figure out.
I Used mobicents 1.2.0BETA3 binary. It is running in jboss default configuration.

1. Is it possible to cluster while been in JBOSS-default configuration?
2. If so, from where i can find a details about clustering.

Pls, help me on this issue.

Best regards
romith.

Hi,
i am looking for failover and clustering for Mobicents too. Can anybody tell me where can i find details about it. How comunicate 2 mobicents when fail occured. Otherwise is there some example?

And second question. Is there some load balancer for other protocols like SIP?.

Thank you very much.

Please check :
http://www.mobicents.org/load-balancer.html
http://www.mobicents.org/clustering.html
http://www.mobicents.org/failover.html

There is no load balancing for other protocols except SIP and HTTP as of now.

Best regards
Jean

When you say that mobicents only supports SIP and HTTP load balancing - does it also support load balancing between two RA's of the same type? For example, if you deploy two SMPP RA's each of which connect to different SMSC's, can the SBB's load balance requests across the two SMPP RA's or would you need to build custom logic to accomplish this?

Also, what about load balancing from the RA to the SBB's? If you have a two node cluster running and an RA receives an event, can it be load balanced to the available servers running SBB's that are waiting for that initial event?

Thanks in advance

the load balancing I was referring to is working only for the SIP RA or for Mobicents Sip Servlets.
SMPP load balancing is not included in the load balancer.

No the SIP load balancer balance the load to the nodes (the SIP RAs for each node that is) in the cluster. Then the usual routing mechanism as per JSLEE spec applies, which is the RA dispatch within the JSLEE container the message to the SBBs interested in that event.
The load balancing is really done upstream by the load balancer the RA is not responsible for doign this work. The RA ultimately will report its health status to the load balancer so that it can route the incoming messages to the most healthier nodes.

Thanks for the info. Is it true that only sip servlets and http support session/state replication at this time, and that the JAIN SIP RA in conjunction with SBB's do not support session/state replication?

With the sip balancer, this seems to translate to:

Sip Balancer with JAIN SIP RA + SBB's = per call failover (calls in progress are lost during failover)
Sip Balancer with Sip Servlets = mid-call failover (can fail over in the middle of a call)

That is true, we had planned a 1.3 version of the JAIN SLEE server with session/state replication but we decided to skip it due to low performance of the underlying JBoss Cache 1.4, present in Jboss AS 4.x versions. SLEE state replication will only be available in 2.x, running on top of JBoss AS 5 and JBoss Cache 3.0

Could anybody tell me how to configue Sip Balancer with JAIN SIP RA + SBB's?

JBoss clustering needs the "all" configuration, which is currently work in progress for 1.2 series
