I am looking for a good help system and like the looks of javahelp but I do not use netbeans.

1. Has anyone used javahelp in a generic java system that does not rely on netbeans for an IDE?
2. Can anyone suggest any good examples for implementing javahelp that are decoupled from any specific IDE?
3. Does anyone know of any open source authoring tools (hopefully that work on linux)?

I look forward to your thoughts.

Cheers,

Ding

Sure that's the way we originally developed it. You don't need an IDE,
though they help.

Look at the demos. Just about every common way of using JavaHelp is in
the demos. Developers have expanded it beyond that using their
creativity, jtharness comes to mind, but most of what you'll need in
example form is in the various demos that come with javahelp.

thanks for the feedback.

I guess when I googled for javahelp I got a lot of examples using netbeans because a lot of eclipse folks are using their own eclipse baed help instead of javahelp.

I have gotten help sort of working now using some demos.

Thanks guys!
