I am new to jMaki and I decided to look around and find some tutorials but I noticed I can't find one with enough details on how to use jMaki because some are pretty vague like an action for a table, you have to put in 'action : ...' but where should that go to ?

Where should I look for a good tutorial to start off jMaki and espeically using tables.

I want to create a table that would populate data from a MySQL database. I have some textfields and textareas corresponding to the fields needed and when a row in the jMaki table is selected, I want the data to appear in the textfields and textareas so that users can edit and submit.

How do I do that ?

For general actions there is:

http://weblogs.java.net/blog/gmurray71/archive/2007/07/

Once you get the hang of actions you can see:

http://blogs.sun.com/enterprisetechtips/entry/working_with_jmaki_events

and the best resource is Carla's Blog on How to do Table paging.

http://weblogs.java.net/blog/carlavmott/archive/2007/09/how_to_implemen....

Both are focused on using tales.

The data format for tables is located at:

http://wiki.java.net/bin/view/Projects/jMakiTableDataModel

Basically what you will need to do is make Ajax requests to communicate with MySql as described in Carla's blog on table paging (above).

Let us know if this is not enough.
