Dear frnzz,

Hii,

I have copied "phoneME Feature MR2 binary bundle (Development Release)" to my Windows machine.

And I have installed a sample MIDlet/app successfully by running the following command:

installMidlet http://localhost:8080/ota-poc/21-7/FirstOne.jad
NOTE: The above URL is an OTA link

As I had successfully installed the app, I also had successfully run the app by making use of the following commands:

runPhoneMe
OR
runMidlet manager
OR
runMidlet 2 (where 2 is the MIDlet suite ID)

And here my doubt is,
how to run the installed MIDlet suite/app with the help of the jad..??

So, frnzz, here I request you to please clarify my doubt.

Your early help will be greatly appreciated..!

& Thanks in advance..!!

With regards,
G.K..!!

Ah, ok. Once the MIDlet has been installed all the pertinent information from the jad file is stored internally under the MIDlet suite ID - the jad file is no longer needed for running the app.

Hi,

I'm glad you were able to install and run the MIDlet via the installer. I think your question is: Can I run the MIDlet directly without installing it first? I haven't tried this in a while but I seem to remember the MIDP spec doesn't allow that so it's not directly supported in phoneME Feature. You can find the details on running MIDlets with phoneME Feature in the commercial documentation set:

http://java.sun.com/javame/reference/docs/sjwc-2.0-web/docs/ToolsGuide-h...

However, I think there is a special command line parameter ("-transient") for testing purposes that allows MIDlets to be executed directly from the command line. You may want to ask your question again in the phoneME Feature forum:

Hope this helps,

Hi Terrence,

Actually what I mean to ask you is:
After installation of MIDlet, shall I run the app with jad file as an argument instead of Suite ID along with the command runMidlet ..??

Anyways, thanks for your reply..! :)
