Nokia phone will ask for user's permission when MIDlet want to access user data.
And the book says that if the MIDlet is signed, it will not ask such permission. So I search the internet about how to sign and finally find out that I much purchase a code-signing certificate.

So my questions are:
1, Can I get a free code-signing certificate? How?

2, Without signing the MIDlet,is that other way to get rid of such Permission Promt?

3 ,We knows that we need to sign some Nokia sis programs before we install it, and it don't need to purchase certificates. Is there a similar method in MIDP for free?

Thank you very much.

Hi jtl,

You might want to try David Hayes' instructions for code signing a MIDlet.

For a free certificate, you might want to try:
