hideColumn() in yahoo dataTable using jMaki

I am new to jMaki and was wondering if it's possible to get access to hide a column within a dataTable.

The yahoo API for dataTable has a function called hideColumn. I have tried calling it by using the object returned form jmaki.getWidget("mydatatable") with no joy. I have also tried setting the width to 0px of the column, but it seems the width will only go as small as the column name.

Is there a way I can hide a column from the dataTable?

Thanks

Just to let others know, as I found a solution.

You can access the raw yahoo dataTable object via the dataTable property of the jMaki widget. So you can do something like this to hide a column.

var widget = jmaki.getWidget("myYahooDTWidget");
widget.dataTable.hideColumn(widget.dataTable.getColumn(0));
