Hello,

Is there a way to obtain which player my application is running on?

Thank you,

Scott

As far as checking model (eg to see if your app is playing on a PS3 vs
a Samsung 1200 or whatnot), there's no normative way to do that.

If you want to uniquely identify a player, that can be done in some
cases. if the player supports the AACS Online API, that offers a way
to get a unique ID from a device, although I'm not sure off the top of
my head if the ID can be unique to a class of players or needs to be
unique per individual player, so that may not do what you need either.
Check out getDeviceBindingID() in the AACS BD Prerecorded spec.

Cheers,
Joe

Hello Joe,

Unfortunately the API isn't available on the Samsung and Sony player we are using to test, it is on the PS3 though. Does anyone have a list of players that have this API is there a way to find out?

Thank you,

Scott
