Hi there.

I don't know how to take control of the Main Menu button.

When I push the button my Xlet restarts.

I've tryed to catch all the keys but i have no response when I push that button.

I think that maybe the solution is to attach another jar to the Main Menu title and try to call my Xlet from this jar, but i don't know how to do that.

Thanks a lot for your time.

Joe,

Can you expand on how to mask out the TopMenu UO? I haven't dug into navigation very much. Thank you!

Joe Rice

For top menu on a BD-J title, the UO is masked in the TerminalInfo()
of the BDJO. Should be doable with the Sun BDJO utility (or with
Sonic's if you have Scenarist).

Cheers,
Joe

Moises -

If you mean the TopMenu UO, there's no way to explicitly trap that
event in BD-J. It will always call the Top Menu title (title 0). So
you're on the right track - you'd need to have something in the Top
Menu title that would handle this case.

Or you could mask out the Top Menu UO so it's prohibited. Some
commercial titles have done this.

Cheers,
Joe

Thank for all the replys.

Yes I refer to the Top Menu button, and my solution at this time is to block the button. I'm using Scenarist HDMV.
I tried to attach my Xlet to the Top Menu Title and the application restarts and all the parameters are reinitiated.
When I Have more time I will trie to use various xlet instead of just one to take control of that button.

Cheers.

I've re-read my previous post and I see that the tone is too "cold". The problem is that I write from Spain and my English is pretty poor.
I also forgot the presentation: I'm Moisés López, a Software Engineer working in BD authoring. I hope that this community grows quickly and I will try to help solving your problems as best as I can.
See you soon. Moises.

Hi Moises,

The button you speak about is this a button in a Xlet that is already active, or is this a button from HDVM and you are wishing to call your Xlet? Also maybe it will help if you tell us which authoring tool are you using to connect your button to the xlet?

Cheers,
