in accordance with the roadmap to 6.1 should have been issued in stable release yesterday but i see yet the release candidate.
Are there big problems?
I wish someone would at least say "we know we missed the date for 6.1, we are working on it..."
If you are going to publish a timeline you need to keep people in the loop when you miss your milestones. I checked the archives of nbusers and nbdev email lists and there is nothing.
Ok, so we waited a few days for quality reasons... and now that 6.1 final is out I find it buggier and slower than 6.1RC2 ... oh well.
Stepping through code in the debugger is much slower.
Much of the code in my test cases is marked as having errors ("class not found").. yet it compiles perfectly and hasn't changed. Normally I could work around this bug by making a small edit to the file and having it re-parsed and re-compiled.. but that workaround isn't working any more. The lines are stuck in a bogus error state.
Is anyone else frustrated that all this attention is going into non-Java features that Netbeans own surveys indicate only a small fraction of the users even care about, and at the same time the Java development is still sub-par?
