beta 22 breaks JavaFX applets using FXApplet

I have a JavaFX applet and since I installed b22 it doesn't work anymore, once it has loaded all dependencies the Java VM closes itself (and console exits). In the plugin logfiles I see nothing abnormal.

The Timer JavaFX applet (http://download.java.net/javadesktop/plugin2/javafx-applet/) still works but it's using another JavaFX bootstrapping technique, I'm using the FXApplet class and the javafx.ui.Applet class to bootstrap.

Installed b22: applet not ok
Reinstalled b21: applet ok
Reinstalled b22: applet not ok

I use java version 6 build 11. When I have in "java plugin" the "next-generation plugin" checked, JavaFX doesn't function. Also the java console disappears under FireFox and IE.
After unchecking the "next-generation plugin" and restarting the browser JavaFX functions normally.
Are we handling the same problem?

Can you please provide a test case? We are building JavaFX Script applets in-house with no problems.
