Request JavaFX Timeline feature: seek

Hi Scenegraph and JavaFX folks,

I'm looking for a Timeline feature that apparently doesn't exist in the
JavaFX API at the moment.

I want to be able to start from or fast-forward/backward to a specific
position in the timeline, be it by duration, key frame, or %, features that
are present in movie players. A timeline based animations is essentially
like a movie IMHO.

So what I'm asking for is an API like: seekTime(durationInMs)
seekKeyFrame(frameNr) seekPosition(percentage) to reposition the timeline
internally.

Thanks in advance!

This sounds similar to what the design tool engineers need:

http://openjfx.java.sun.com/jira/browse/JFXC-806

Its description is vague right now, as all animation enhancements were
postponed until after JavaOne (we had to get the core functionality
working first). Feel free to add your comments to the issue, and
perhaps "watch" the issue (click the "Watch it" link) to be notified
when it changes.

They seem to need the state of a running animation, where I want to be able
to "control" the start position of the animation, that's not the same if
you ask me.

I guess I'll have to find myself a workaround... :-(

For JavaOne, yes, but file an enhancement request with specifics.
