Hello,

I have an application that animates (moves, sorts) ImageIcons within a swing panel and it is way slower with b14 than with 1.6.0_05. I'm running Vista Home Premium SP1.

No errors are reported, the frame rate just drops horribly with the newer jre.

Hi frankgrimes97,

Have you had a chance to test out the issue with new builds? b22 is now available if you haven't try that:
https://jdk6.dev.java.net/6u10ea.html#Download

Also, it would be helpful if you could provide an online test case along with the driver and hardware spec Dmitri needed.

Thanks,
Roger Y.

Yes, a link to the applet would be great.

Also, what's your video hardware? Is this a desktop or a notebook?
(it'd be better to follow the directions on gathering that info
on the page that Roger pointed).

And finally, try the 6u10 beta (b20) which has just been released.

Thanks,
Dmitri

Are you sure that the beta is b20?
I just installed it and I see the following:

C:\jdk1.6.0_10\bin>java -version
java version "1.6.0_10-beta"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_10-beta-b14)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 11.0-b11, mixed mode, sharing)

Build 20 (b20) is not yet out.
It will be available in a couple days, possibly Monday.

Builds 20 and 21 were just posted. If you have not yet had the opportunity, please download b21:

Can you provide the applet? A working applet, or a smaller sample applet, that demonstrates the problem is really necessary for us to look into the issue.

It may be useful to follow the troubleshooting instructions:
