hello jxta people :) i have a new question today, i hope I'll find a good answer like i always did, so :

i tried to discover peer in Internet by using standard RDV and all was ok, i found different peers across the net and it was good.

after that i created a new group, and i joined it and i tried to discover peers in that group (i mean using its discovery service) but i didn't find anything :(

don't tell me thing like "coz there is no other peers in your group" coz I'm working with my workmate and he discover the group and join it too .... we tried the same thing with the netpeergroup and all was ok, but with our group no one can see the other...

please, can someone give me an explanation for that ?

thanks a lot.

each group requires a rendezvous if the basic underlaying network can not provide mcast between nodes. run one of the nodes as a rendezvous for the sub-group, and either rely on the netpeergroup rdv to bootstrap the sub-group or use sub-group seeding.

can i use the netpeergroup rdv as rdv for my group to work on the net ? if yes, why i can't discover peers belonging to my group over the Internet even if i configured the netpeergroup rdv ?

you can not. As the developer rdvs would have to join and act as a rdv for the sub-group, which beyond the control of the application. you can however, as I stated, use the dev rdv to bootstrap the sub-group rdv/edge relationship (in another words, no need to setup rdv/relay seeds for the sub-group)

excume me sir,

i still not understand with your explanation.
"you can however, as I stated, use the dev rdv to bootstrap the sub-group rdv/edge relationship " , could you explain more clearly.

i have a group that create from peer configures as EDGE, do you think i must implement rendezvous service in that peer , and how with that group? you said "each group requires a rendezvous if the basic underlaying network can not provide mcast between nodes " , how can i set up rdv for my group??

thank you
