J3DGraphics2D problem

I have a J3D app that runs fine until I create a second instance of it. It is set up so that the two instances are independent.

The problem (app hangs) occurs in the postRender() method with:

getGraphics2D().flush(true);

which is required to make 2D graphics appear on the display.

With this line commented out, both instances function properly (except no 2D graphics appear).

Anyone have similar/related experience?
