Hey aayush2008,

Could you give me pointers about how to integrate mobicents with OpenIMSCore? Is there a step by step README available anywhere? We have OpenIMSCore up and running.

Thanks,
-Chaitrali

I am in a process to use to HSS from openIMS , I am wondering why you have used the OMS core for ?
We should be able to get the P/I/S CSCF from the the mobicent server , I have not yet tried it but have some design in my mind .

I personally do not think that implementing the P/I/S-CSCFs around Mobicents is such a good idea. It might not be able to support (from the perspective of performance) real-time call-processing nodes with such complex state machines.

We have developed the CSCF nodes in our organization that are capable of supporting 2 million BHCA load, where 1 call= 5 SIP transactions.

However, implementing the HSS/SLF (which is predominantly stateless) or a node such as the SMSC is feasible.

I am wondering where else do you use the mobicent server apart from presence server in your home grown IMS architecture .
Would you like to shed some info on that ?

I thought you were talking about building CSCFs around Mobicents :)

I am currently developing logic to use Mobicents as a Middleware for broadband applications such as Video on Demand, Personal Video Recording etc.

What about you? Where are you using Mobicents ?

Hi Alvaro,

I have done Mobicents AS installation on Debian.for installation u should have one mobicents-all-1_2_0_BETA1.zip file and unzip it.in README file they explained clearly as how to install.u can try this:
cd server
sh run.sh -mc

then u can check it in the browser which they mentioned in the README file.
there i should see server state is RUNNING.
All the best and expecting some inputs for the OpenIMS conf..
bye.

Ok prasad i have Mobicents OK.
Also i ran the Call-Controller2 example successfully.
Now i am going to try to put a Voicemail service with Mobicents.

Did you have some advance in IMS core configuration?

Sorry for my english :P

Regards,
Alvaro.

I think if the Open IMS core S-CSCF sends a third party REGISTER to the Mobicents platform and the Registrar SBB is deployed on Mobicents, then it should work just fine. Might be worth trying oiut.
