I opened a run Java time bug with b11 on 02/17/2008 that has not made it into the official bug list as of 02/27/2008. The bug had an internal review ID of 1179397. Below is what happens when I test the runtime version with b12.

Java Plug-in 1.6.0_10-ea
Using JRE version 1.6.0_10-ea Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM

Below is a version test web site. See what your own b12 tells you.

Thanks,
Jim Burke

Oh Roger, you are so right! Next month I have an eye exam and will get new and better glasses. Also maybe sometime look for a version update to my own brain.

The test applet does not show the build number. What you are seeing is 1.6.0, or 6, update 10, Early Access (1.6.0_10-ea).

If you wan to see the build number, run 'java -verison' at the command line.

For example:

C:\Documents and Settings\user>java -version
java version "1.6.0_10-ea"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_10-ea-b11)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 11.0-b11, mixed mode, sharing)

build 1.6.0_10-ea-b11
................... ^........^
....................|.........|
.............update.....build

And another bug this one in the JDK itself. My XP machine opens Microsoft Internet Explorer. IE is a horrible browser. Please use all other browsers. Do not use IE for anything. This was supposed to be removed/fixed in b11 but forgotten or put back in.
