streaming features: how to test?

Hi all,

this is my first post on the forum, but I've been reading it for a while and I found useful hints to get started on BD-J. Thanks already!

I'm trying to implement streaming features, by using progressive playlist. I've already seen a post about it (http://forums.java.net/jive/thread.jspa?messageID=241796).

My question is more on testing side: how do you test if your implementation is profile 2.0 compliant if there's no player to market with 2.0 features?

Is there any player/firmware combination that allows to use the network for testing purpose?

What about PC SW players?

Thanks,
Stexx

I believe he is speaking of moc streaming of video using progressive playlists, as opposed to unlocking, or downloading of simple images... Something more akin to what was demonstrated in the early days of each HD format... i.e. real streaming video.

I would assume PowerDVD might be able to accomplish something like this, or maybe some other software player. The software players seem to be more profile 2.0 capable as they are on the PC. Getting a profile 2.0 hradward player is very difficult right now... maybe impossible for most.

Good luck.

Hi Stexx,

If you don't mind me asking what kind of streaming features are you thinking of? Maybe changing images, unlocking parts of the disc, re-skinning a menu, game data, etc?

Cheers,

Denny B.
