Hi Guys,

when I run my Earth applet in Firefox2 I get an issue when scrolling the web page. The 3D Earth stays in the same place while the rest of the web page moves.

I also get the same problem with the Java3D demo applets on the java.net site.

Is this a problem with my computer (Vista - yes I know that's the first problem) or do other people see the same problem.

What I've been doing is to periodically (1 sec) call the following when scrolling the page:
canvas3D.setVisible(false);
canvas3D.setVisible(true);

This seems to work. The 3D Earth periodically jumps to the correct position when scrolling the page.

Anyone know of a better solution.

Thanks,
Peter

I'm using Java3D 1.5.1, Java 1.6.03, Vista, Firefox 2.0.0.12

Nice applet !

I tested it on XP Pro, JRE version 1.6.0_10-ea Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM, and runs fine on both Firefox 2.0.0.11 and IE 7.0.

This JRE is also know as "JRE update N" and comes with a lot of enhancements on Swing and 2D rendering.

Anyway Vista is a bit trouble, specially with Aero theme enabled.

Hi aces,

> Nice applet !

thanks. Must thank the JNLPAppletLauncher guys for making it easy to run as an applet; nice job!

I disabled Aero and then Firefox worked properly; hadn't thought of trying that.

Appreciate your help.

Thanks,
Peter
