Hi,

JDK 1.6 update 4 doesn't have fix for above mentioned bug. Could anyone know when fix for this is planned? Or it will be available in JDK 7?

Thanks,
Shahid

Thanks.

As final version of either JDK 7 or update 10 is not finally available. Could you please comment on whether should I use suggested workaround which is,

sed -i 's/XINERAMA/FAKEEXTN/g' jre/lib/i386/xawt/libmawt.so

Would it be safe for other platforms which doesn't have this problem? As we have to ship JRE with our product.

Actually no matter what bug database says, I've still seen that problem to occur randomly with 6uN build 9.
Build 11 looks fine so far but haven't been running it for long enough to say for sure.

Be sure you replace the given string in all occurences of the library (there's another version for running awt headless for example)

Since JRE is platform specific you will have to ship different jdks to different clients depending on what OS are they running, so using given workaround to patch one jdk will not affect clients on other platforms.
