Since upgrading to Update N b10, the Java Console option in the Tools menu of Firefox 2.0.0.11 has gone missing on both Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 machines which (obviously) makes debugging applets very difficult.

I think this was deliberate. In the context of the new Java Plug-In this menu option doesn't make sense any more, so I think we removed it even for the "classic" Java Plug-In.

To get access to the Java Console, run the Java Control Panel, Advanced tab, Java Console node, and select "Show Console". Or use the system tray icon to open it.

OK, makes sense then. Thanks.

That was a super-genius idea... can someone now point me to a firefox plugin to get the Java Console Menu option back again?
