Hi,
I am now a happy owner of a Nokia N810 and would like to add JavaME support on it.

What is the status of the port of Java ME PP (AWT) for the Nokia N800 or N810?

It would also be great if I am able to run JavaME/MIDP2.0 applications, what is the status of that port for Nokia N810?
Regards,
Ove

Hi Ove,

Marcos Fabio said he has it working (java.net username: mfabiop).

See:
http://forums.java.net/jive/message.jspa?messageID=246230#246230

But, he hasn't given us an update yet.

Marcos, can you send us the instructions to build CDC/PP for the
N800/N810 and your findings on how you got the build to work?

We would love to get your code change contribution to this open source
project so that others may share.

Thanks,

Hinkmond

Is it possible with a version of phoneME Advanced software that support JavaME/CDC1.1/PP1.1 + MIDP2.0 for Nokia N810?
Anyone plan to add support for that, perhaps it already exists?
regards,
Ove

Hi Ove,

The port that Marcos was working on had only CDC/PP (no MIDP) I don't
think anyone is working on that. Are you volunteering? ;-)

Hi Marcos,

No worries. Hope you are doing OK now.

To start a branch for the N800/N810 work you've been helping with,
please first sign and submit the Sun Contributor's Agreement (SCA) at:

http://www.sun.com/software/opensource/sca.pdf

More info about the SCA see:
http://www.sun.com/software/opensource/contributor_agreement.jsp

After you sign and submit the SCA, please let me know how you submitted
it (e-mail or fax), and I will watch for your name to be processed by
our Sun Contributor's group.

Then, we can take your code as a diff file and put it into the
IssueTracker and onto a branch in the repository for code review. After
the code review is complete, I'll merge your changes back to the trunk.

Let me know if you have any questions or issues.

Thanks again,

Hinkmond

Hi Ove,

Yes, that is a good URL starting point to find more on the most recent
phoneME porting work.

The N800/N810 porting work is starting to pick up again at this forum
thread:
