Hello,

I'd like to start developing an application for a pda. What I've done so far is to install the sun java wireless toolkit 2.5.2 for linux and to play around with it on "Hello world" level.

What must be done next? I somehow have to bring the application to the device but I don't comprehend the principle of the vm for pdas. I don't have the device yet, but I know the type of the cpu, the display size and that it has WinCE on it. Thank you.

Stefan

If you a complete novice like me perhaps, mobiles and pda's use MIDlets, so you could do what I did, a J2ME tutorial to get a taste. I just finished this http://today.java.net/pub/a/today/2005/02/09/j2me1.html?page=2
At least its a start!

I once wrote a few simple MIDlets for testing purposes, I think I get along with that point. I've had a look at the J2ME tutorial. It's step 7 that is about a "Java-enabled device". I think I have to "Java-enable" my device first and I don't know how to approach it. In my desktop world I'd say there must be something like a suitable VM, but it's probably not that simple.
