Hi ,

I tried to run tests in CDC mode by using the following command.

java -cp main_agent.jar com.sun.tck.j2me.agent.AgentMain -tcp -activeHost

I think this command is to run tests on desktop environment.
Actually i am planning to run tests on target. How can we run tests on target in CDC mode?.Is it possible or we need to add extra plugin to MeFramework?.If we, then how can we do?

Thanks,
Murali

Hi Murali,

I'm back from (short) vacation, sorry for a small delays in my responses.

Correct. This is just an example of one runtime environment that can run the agents.
Since it's a well known environment, we know how to invoke the agents there.

This greatly depends on particular implementations, which we don't control and might not be even aware of. This could be a phone, a set-top box, a BluRay player, or some kind of emulator on PC (CDC Toolkit). Users who would like to run the tests on such environments, should refer to the documentation for those environments for the procedure on how to launch the applications there.

Not all environments might even have a command line, for example,

I don't think so. In Sun's TCKs for CDC platform, there were no such need.
In those TCKs we provide instructions on how to execute the TCK/agents on the Reference Implementation, as a, well, reference. For particular CDC implementation users should referer to the implementation documentation.

The problem here is that there are many different environments that we don't control or even know about. So, I can't really provide detailed information on how to execute the agents on particular platform/phone. Different phones might have different CDC stacks in them from different companies. You need to check with the manufacturer/provider of the platform. If the manufacturer claims that they support CDC stack, they should have the docs describing how to use it. Sorry, no specific answer here.

Thanks,
