Hi,

I am trying to wrap the dojo.Spinner widget in a new jMaki dojo widget without success. I tried two varients in my component.js both of which failed.

1. use createWidget:
djd43.widget.createWidget("Spinner",{inputWidgetId:uuid}, mydiv);

error: widget object has no create method.

2. use dojoType parameter in an input tag and use div.innerHTML to set value of div

I only go a textfield and no spinners.

Has anyone been able to wrap the dojo.spinner widget?

Regards,

Hi,

I have not worked with that widget yet but given my experience with dojo I believe there could be one of two problems.

1) You are getting an error that is getting swollowed during creation. Try turning debugging on.

At the top of your glue.js or the widget type:

jmaki.debug = true;

This will get you more details.

2) We don't use the dojoTypes with jMaki style widgets. We intentionally do not want to have the page parsed and we only pass in the div reference when creating the widgets programatically. I suspect this is a problem too.

If you are still having problems can you send me the source? component.htm and component.js?

I'll try to give it a look.

Hi Greg,

Thanks. Based on your explanation, I now understand why my widget is not working.

Hi Kamyar, We are integrating the Dojo 1.0.2 widgets this week and we will try to get the spinner widget in. Any other widgets of interest? -Greg

Hi Greg,

Thanks. I think spinner would be a great addition.
Another dojo feature I like is the timed dialog. You can set dialog properties such as bgColor, bgOpacity, toggle, toggleDuration and lifetime. It would be nice we had a jMaki dojo timed dialog widget that could be configured and then activated on an event such as button clicked.
