many Swing (or painting) related problems

I tried out the early access update N release. My first impression was not very positive. When I run my swing application I got all kind of paint-related problems and in fact the application is not usable anymore. My textpane is not painted correctly: when I drag with my mouse over the text I got all kind of repaint problems. I also use a treetable, and the expansion of nodes gives a distorted result.

I wonder if other people have the same experiences.
By the way my application works ok in java 1.4, 1.5 or 1.6

Frank

Thanks very much for pointing me to this thread.
Dmitri, disabling the DirectD accelleration solved the problem, I 'll post a trace report on the mentioned forum.

Thanks
Dick

This might be related to the new Direct3D 9-based Java2D pipeline in 6uN EA.
You might want to try disabling it.
Also, there's a thread in Java2D forums about this: http://forums.java.net/jive/thread.jspa?threadID=31500&tstart=0

Hope that helps!

Yes, indeed. Please let us know your hardware configuration.
(see the mentioned thread for how).

And, I should point out, these issues should be addressed in b07.
In the meantime you can disable the pipeline with -Dsun.java2d.d3d=false .
