BD-J Image Memory Management

Hello,

When loading too many images inside your BD-J application, the application crashes. I also heard, and correct me if I'm wrong, that the JVM memory inside the player is independent from the memory that holds the images (PNGs) being used, so a Runtime.getRuntime().freeMemory() will not do the job.

My question is, how can I know the limits of my image memory and manage it effectivly?
