Hi,
I have prepared some simple BD J application. I can see the output on XletView but it does not get played on cyberlink player. Can anyone tell me whats the problem or if there is specific compiler version, then please let me know.
Thanx in advance
Sam

Hi there,
I have the same problem.

Cyberlink does not even give any debug output, I am trying to get more info from Cyberlink on that.

If not Cyberlink, what other players are you all using for verifying and testing BD-J apart from XLetView in real life?

Basically I am using BD-RE on PS3 to test BD-J. I'm even not using XletView because I couldn't manage to get a button focus in XletView ;)

And what are you burning the BD-RE with? Is there any console output or debug info for e.g. System.out.println() on the PS3?

I'm burning with a BD-Burner of course ;-)
Before this I'm using Sonic Scenarist to create a disc image.

No there is no System.out.println() or other built-in debug output.
For debugging I wrote a small Class that just displays a Textbox (HStaticText) on the screen and outputs the text it's supplied with. So this way you have to do your debug output "by feet".

Unfortunately it's also not possible on PS3 to redirect System.out and System.err. Some other players support this so it's possible to redirect it to the debug box and view a few system status messages. But still no error messages.

Hi Sam,
you should write your xlets with compatibility to Java 1.3

Hi Philipp,
Thanx for the reply.
I compiled my application using JRE 1.3, but still my application doesn't run on cyberlink player (PC based). Is signing of JAR file is mandatory for running application on cyberlink player ?
Thnx in advance

No as far as I know signing is not mandatory.
Once I also wanted to use powerDVD for checking my BD-J applications. But after installing I learned that this software only works fine in advanced mode (BD-J and HDDVD) with very few graphic cards. Perhaps this is actually your problem?

well, I have a high end system in which I play BD content. But, when I try to play my application, it shows blank screen. Are you using Cyberlink player ?
If yes, then can you please send me simplest unsigned application (like hello world) that can run on cyberlink player. It will be great help.
Thnx

I'm sorry I don't use the Cyberlink player because we didn't want to buy a new graphics card.
Do other BD-J Discs play on your Cyberlink player?
