Sorry, I could not understand clearly. How can I use 0.0.0.0 IP address? And where should I put 127.0.0.0?

Your help will be greatly appreciated!

hi the ip addresses 0.0.0.0 are in the default platformconfig file

tcp
9701
224.0.1.85
1234
16384
0.0.0.0

auto

and

http
0.0.0.0
auto
9700

i beleive that these have to be changed but if i use any other IP address apart from 127.0.0.1(the standard loopback test for networks) jxtashell will not start

Hello pds8475,

Thank you for your reply!

But how did you configure the RDV?
//The RDV IP address
def_rdv = jxta_endpoint_address_new("tcp://10.118.195.135:9701"); //my PC IP address
//Set TCP interface address 127.0.0.1
jxta_TCPTransportAdvertisement_set_InterfaceAddress(tta, htonl(0x7F000001));
//Set HTTP interface address 127.0.0.1
jxta_HTTPTransportAdvertisement_set_InterfaceAddress(hta, htonl(0x7F000001));

rdv = jxta_RdvConfigAdvertisement_new();
//Set this peer as RDV
jxta_RdvConfig_set_config(rdv, config_rendezvous);
//Add a seed to this RDV
jxta_RdvConfig_add_seeding(rdv, def_rdv);
rdvsvc = jxta_svc_new();
jxta_svc_set_RdvConfig(rdvsvc, rdv);
jxta_svc_set_MCID(rdvsvc, jxta_rendezvous_classid);
///////

Or could you please tell me how I should configure RDV and peers?

Your help will be greatly appreciated!

hi iv downloaded the latest jxta -c files using
svn checkout https://jxta-c.dev.java.net/svn/jxta-c/jxta-c/trunk --username guest
when it finished downloading
i found a tutorial for platformconfig in directory
trunk\tutorials

there are 2 files that may help you

PlatformConfig_sample.txt
and
tutorials_platform_config.txt

i have included them in this message :-)

Hello pds8475,

Thank you so much!

I still could not run it sucessfully. How did you set the RDV and Peers in your PC?

I did like this:
def_rdv = jxta_endpoint_address_new("tcp://192.18.37.36:9701");
and then,

jxta_RdvConfig_add_seeding(rdv, def_rdv);

I can not find any peers

hi with what i have given you i can only see peers on the local network

Hello pds8475,

Now I just made a RDV in a LAN and I can see the peers from the RDV. But I still can not talk with other peers.

Can you talk with other peers by using the command talk from the commaned line?

Thanks

hi i found these IP addresses that i take it your supposed to put into platformconfig where the 0.0.0.0 IP addresses are but when iv tried it crashes
http://rdv.jxtahosts.net/cgi-bin/relays.cgi?2

also putting 127.0.0.1 sets it doing a loopback test but thats as far as i have got
let me know if they work for you incase its just my copy :-)
