You may be under-estimating the interest.

There were a number of positive reactions on the internettablettalk forum.

I hope to dial in from the departure lounge at Geneva airport.

That was a good presentation. It was being recorded, is that going to be published in the forums, or on the PhoneME pages? My be it would be a good idea to post at the end of this thread where the material will be available, so that the links on the InternetTabletTalk.com forums will help lead folks to what they are looking for.

One comment off-topic, but on how the presentation was done. I was unable to get into the web session from my Ubuntu7.04/Firefox2.0.0.6 setup, and sadly had to drop back to xp/IE. Also the phone dial-in seems really silly in this day of voip, and streaming audio. I know from experience that the realtime audio streaming and presentation syncing is a bit of a pain, but this seem like there should be technology now to make an event like this easy.

Again thanks for all the good info

Hi Shawn,

I'm glad you enjoyed the presentation.

Here is the playback info:

Audio Part:
First start the playback of the digital recording of this call at:

Dial U.S.: 1.877.471.6587
Or Int'l: +1.402.970.2667
Enter program ID: 1168930590001
This program will be available from 09/27/07 at 12:00 AM CT to 10/27/07
at 11:59 PM CT

Then prepare the Visual Part:
Download this .wrf file:
https://phoneme.dev.java.net/files/documents/5835/70293/nokia-n800-webse...

And install this WebMeeting Windows-only (sorry! It's WebEx's fault, not
mine) player:
https://attwm.webex.com/client/v_mywebex-pso-attwm/atrecply_TSP.msi

Start the WebMeeting Player and point it to the downloaded
nokia-n800-webseminar.wrf file.

Start the Visual Part and hit pause. Start the Audio Part and when I
say "Mark" during the beginning of the recording, hit play on the Visual
Playback to get the two playback methods in sync.

I'll be posting follow-up answers to the questions you asked to this
forum thread.

Thanks to everyone who participated! Let me know if there is any
problem with the instructions above for playback.

Thanks,

Hinkmond

Sorry, Kurt. It's unfortunately not that easy to convert this style
WebEx meeting to Flash for YouTube. The audio and video are split into
two different mediums (phone & PC). But, I think I'll try Shawn's
advice for next time and use streaming audio in WebEx instead of the
phone for the voice part of the presentation.

The drawback is that viewers will have to have a mic set-up on their PCs
to interact and ask questions. But I guess a lot of people have that
already for VoIP (Ex. Skype).

Let me know if there are any other suggestions out there for next time...

Thanks,

Hinkmond

Hinkmond. How long is going to run? What kind of response have you had. I
was thinking about doing an interview about it afterwards. Thoughts?

Planned for 1 hour.

It won't be the biggest draw, since only 4 people voted for it in the
online poll. And, since so many people are spread over the world,
there's never a good common time to get everyone on a call.

I'm guessing 2-8 people. It might not be big enough to warrant an
interview, but I'll let you make the call after I can give you the
numbers who will call in tomorrow.

Does that sound OK?

Thanks,

Hinkmond

I've plugged this web seminar in the leading N800 forum - http://www.internettablettalk.com.
